Cobra Helicopters
Designed in 1967 the Cobra Gunship was the first helicopter produced by America solely as an attack helicopter. Cobras chalked up over a million operational hours in Vietnam with as many as 1081 in service. Powered by an 1800 horsepower turbine, the two man crew has a range of 274 miles at a speed of 172 mph. It can carry up to 3500 lbs of firepower and is considered the “Armed Guard” or “Hired Gun” to protect Huey and Chinook helicopters on dangerous missions.
